During the exhibition "HEMUS 2014 – Defense, Antiterrorism & Security", held in Plovdiv from 28 to 31 May were shown a 120 mm cartridge with single radio frequencies jammer mortar round TJMM-120 and modernized 120 mm cartridge with volume detonating mortar round VDMM-120.
120 mm cartridge TJMM-120 is intended to create a limited radio jamming in the range 30 MHz to 2.5 GHz. The frequency band is or can be divided into subbands by providing reliable suppression of radio communications, GSM, satellite phones and GPS systems on fixed or hopping frequencies. The TJMM-120 can be used as a “target designator” to guide a precision and/or smart ammunition to specific object, in specific combat conditions it’s possible to ignore the earth coordinate system with North orientation and to create own local and independent coordinate system or in combat for protection of own bases and temporary facilities from precision guided by using of GPS navigation munitions creating a protection shield and barrier.
120 mm cartridge with volume detonating mortar round VDMM-120 was named one of the best developments in its class in 2009 by Jane's, ahead of analogues from the U.S. and Israel. The design provides exceptional conventional precision by targeting, the damage effect is a result of an overpressure wave propagated copying the surface contour and high temperature in the fixed area of deflagrating transformation of the volume-burning composite.
